Automatic slims memphis tn 3810311/20/2023 The kids sat at another table and their food came out first. Cons - the food come out very slow and broken up. However, she was apologizing all night for the shortcomings in the kitchen. As an example, my surf and turf was only $24 but it also only had 2 shrimp and about 6-8 ounces of meat. Once the food arrived it was “decent” for the price. She was bubbly and worked hard but she had lots to overcome. Pros - Dominique, our server was a major bright spot. The place still has a very cool look and feel but it was only about 1/3 full so I was worried when we walked in especially since downtown was hoping last night. By far this is the WORST restaurant we have experienced. My wife and I have been married for 17 years and Automatic Slims was one of our first dates and we have fond memories so we decided to take our kids and some friends. We have been in Memphis for several days. Our Uber driver was generous enough to wait while they finally got the credit card “to go through.” The owner and Jacquelyn came out to find us and asked us to come back in to rerun our credit card even though it had already been charged. We checked our account and it had been charged, so after waiting, we left to catch our Uber. Of course we needed more drinks to wash down the burgers.ġ5 minutes after she took our credit card, she finally brought it back to our table and said “the credit card machine is down that’s why it took so long.” and walked away. Jacquelyn came back and dropped our check off at the table and didn’t even ask if we needed anything. The bun was so dry, it was hard to swallow a bite of the burger without taking a drink to wash it down. We all had hamburgers, which were subpar. Jacquelyn did not come back to our table to see if we needed refills or anything until she. I knew we should have left when it took our server Jacquelyn 25 minutes to come to our table to greet us and take our drink order. The stable for the downtown carriage rides was just down the street. The building is in an area where there is a bit of construction (or demolition we could not tell) and empty lots, buildings. There had been a steady incoming stream of customers while we were there, and by the time we left around 10pm, it was actually more crowded than when we arrived. Yes, it would have been better with ice cream, but it was still very good. The brownie base was warm and gooey with a nice outside crunch and the strawberry and raspberry sauce added nice flavor. The server tried to talk us out of it, without the ice cream to balance the sweetness, but we ordered it anyway. Their signature dessert is a fudge pie, but when we ordered one, we were told that they were out of ice cream, which the pie is usually served with. The burger with macaroni & cheese was delicious. We added bacon to the grilled cheese, which was served with steak fries and was good. The chicken & dumplins were very good and had lots of white meat chicken. We enjoyed the toasted ravioli appetizer, but thought it would be better if the marinara sauce served for dipping was warmed instead of chilled. Wide variety on the menu - sandwiches, salads, rice bowls, pasta, southern favorites. neighborhood pub/grill atmosphere and most folks appeared to be locals. We were staying at Big Cypress Lodge and, not wanting to do the longer walk over to the Beale Street area, found this restaurant on Google Maps and TripAdvisor. Our family of 4 arrived around 9pm on a Tuesday night. University Area Neighborhood Association Restaurants.Quince - Oakhaven-Parkway PD Restaurants.
